Cookie policy
Last updated: 31 July 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Signet Solutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on signet-solutions.com (the "Site"), what they are used for, and how you can control them.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally, and our Terms and Conditions.
Signet Solutions Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 03226990, with its registered office at Kelvin House, RTC Business Park, London Road, Derby, DE24 8UP.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to function properly, to remember things between pages, and in some cases to collect information about how the site is used.
A few distinctions are useful. First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting, while third-party cookies are set by another organisation whose content or service appears on the page. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period.
Similar technologies, including local storage and pixels, work in comparable ways. Where we refer to cookies in this policy we mean these technologies too.
3. The legal position
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, each as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you have requested may be set without consent. All other cookies, including those used for analytics and advertising, require your consent before they are set.
Section 6 explains how you can control the cookies set on your device.
4. The cookies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the Site to work and to keep it secure. They are set without consent because the Site cannot function properly without them.
- Cloudflare (content delivery and security). Our hosting is served through Cloudflare's network, which sets a _cfuvid cookie on your first visit. It is a session cookie used to distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic for rate-limiting purposes, and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (spam protection). Our forms are protected by Turnstile, which verifies that a submission comes from a person rather than a bot. It runs on all pages of the Site and uses browser storage to perform this check. Turnstile is designed as a privacy-preserving alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs and is not used to track you across websites.
- Webflow (hosting and content management). Our website platform may set cookies necessary for page delivery and for processing form submissions.
4.2 Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors find and use the Site, so that we can improve it. They are set only with your consent.
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. It tells us things like which course pages are most visited, how people arrive at the Site, and where visitors leave without finding what they needed. We use it to improve the Site, not to identify individuals.
- _ga: set by Google to distinguish one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_BWP64BJ1QL: set by Google to maintain the analytics session state. Expires after 2 years.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and may be transferred to the United States. Google's handling of this data is governed by its own Privacy Policy. We do not use Analytics data to build advertising audiences.
4.3 Advertising cookies
We do not currently run advertising or remarketing campaigns through this Site, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to share your data with advertising networks. If this changes we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any such cookies are set.
4.4 Third-party content
Some content on the Site is served by third parties, which may set their own cookies or receive your IP address when the content loads:
- Google Maps. A map showing our Derby training centre is embedded in the footer of every page, and a larger map appears on our Contact page. When it loads, Google may set cookies in its own context and will receive your IP address. This is governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts. Our typefaces are served from Google's font servers, which receive your IP address when a page loads. Google states that it does not set cookies for Google Fonts requests.
- Content delivery networks. Some scripts and styles are served from jsDelivr and Amazon CloudFront. These deliver files only and are not used to track you.
We have no control over cookies set by third parties. If you want to understand what they collect, please read their own privacy and cookie policies.
5. What we do not do
To be clear about what is not happening on this Site: we do not use social media tracking pixels, we do not use session-recording or heatmap tools, we do not operate a live chat widget, and we do not sell or share cookie data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. Managing your cookies
On this Site. We are in the process of adding a cookie banner that will let you accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit, and change your choice at any time afterwards. Until that is in place, you can control cookies using your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out described below.
In your browser. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser allows this, and the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox explain how. Note that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, may stop parts of the Site working correctly.
Opting out of Google Analytics directly. Google provides a Browser Add-On that prevents Analytics data being sent from any website you visit.
For general guidance on cookies, About Cookies is a useful independent resource.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new tool to the Site or if the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where a change is significant, we will ask for your consent again.
