Aim

This course will enable signal engineers to recall the principles of operation of the style 63 machine and carry out the necessary tests and checks as defined in the Signal Maintenance Specifications. They will also be able to adjust the Style 63 Point Machine to operational parameters and effectively locate faults. They will also be able to change component parts of the point machine.

Assessment and Certification

Achievement of the Course Outcomes will be assessed by a practical and theory assessment.

The delegate’s achievement of the Course Outcomes will be confirmed by a certificate which will be forwarded to the nominated client contact following the course.

Pre-Requisites

A well prepared delegate is expected to be able to read circuit diagrams and be involved the maintenance and faulting of Style 63 point machines. Ideally they should have attended some basic signalling courses (BS1/BS2/Introduction to Signalling) or be able to demonstrate relevant experience.
