In July 2016 Signet Solutions celebrates it's 20th Anniversary.
Signet Solutions has built up an excellent reputation in the Signal Engineering discipline both in the UK and internationally.
Jonathan Tillin, the founder in 1996 set up the company and has been involved in major projects at a strategic level within testing and commissioning and has developed detailed process documentation for Railway Administrations. Jonathan has chaired the committee reviewing the Testing Licenses within the IRSE scheme and is passionate about personnel development matters. Jonathan stepped down from the Chair at Signet Solutions in May 2004 when Dr.John Penney took the Appointment as Chairman to take the Company forward. Jonathan retired from Signet Solutions in June 2010. He now works as an Associate on a part time basis.
Andy Knight - Managing Director
Andy Knight joined the company as Operations Director in June 2001 and became Managing Director from July 2003. Andy has an excellent track record in delivering tailored training and development projects. We don't just train and develop! Our consultants are in high demand because of the value they bring to the projects in which Signet Solutions are working. Our team of signal engineers are involved in high-profile works and our signal testing engineers undertake work for both Rail Administrations and Contract Organisations. We work with our clients, for our clients.
We have developed a number of engineering and process specifications, particularly in the field of signalling testing. One of the values we bring to our training and development is that we are able to work with clients to develop the specifications to which training and assessment will be applied.
In Signet Solutions we have a complementary range of signal engineering consultancy skills; design, installation, testing, and maintenance. We have supplied consultants to assess the efficacy of design, installation and testing working as Independent Safety Assessors within a team lead by the prestigious A. D. Little. We have been working in this role for a number of years in Europe and the Far East. We undertake the Professional Head responsibilities for a client organisation. We provide briefing packs and briefing events for client organisations.
In training we developed the Post-graduate Degree programme in Signal Engineering for Sheffield Hallam University on behalf of Network Rail. Our training consultancy developed the process engineering to enable a large Contracting Organisation to attain IRSE Assessing Agency status. Our training is in both academic and skills fields.
In the field of testing our consultants act as senior team personnel for testing activities involving multi-discipline Commissionings, often we provide the Infrastructure Controller's independent representative for major Commissionings.
